023. The Power of Sharing
Happy Tuesday friends! Today’s TIP is THE POWER OF SHARING!
Now, We all know the saying, “Sharing is Caring” but I'm not talking about sharing food or clothes…I'm talking about sharing our stories. Our testimonies.
In week 19, I shared with you about "sharing your gift" with the world. Whether it's singing, writing, dancing, speaking, hugging, smiling, whatever your unique gift may be.
Just as powerful, if not more powerful is the gift of sharing your story to allow yourself to connect deeper with others!
We really only long for two things in life...love and connection! If we aren't sharing who we really are with the world, we're disconnected and thus make it harder to love and be loved.
After my post last week, "Look for the Lesson," I had several people reach to see if I was ok.
I think a few actually thought I was about to jump off a cliff. Perfect example of what happens when you try and project a perfect life when it really isn't the case...you post one real thing and people think you're sick, or about to kick the bucket, aka. give up on life.
It's actually the complete opposite. I feel so much freedom in sharing. I thought it would make me feel weak, but instead I feel stronger than ever and more ME than ever!
I encourage you all to share your stories! Maybe not to the entire world on social media but at least in your relationships and you'll be surprised how much closer you become and how much you can connect on a deeper level.
Along with the reach outs to make sure I was actually ok, there was some amazing reconnecting from friends thanking me for posting, then telling me about their owns stories, similar to mine. I might never have known we went through the same thing, if I hadn't shared. Now my relationship with many friends is even deeper. I feel like we're on the same page, an even playing field. Because of those kind hearted people who shared stories with me, I no longer need to feel isolated in my quest for improvement, not total perfection, but improvement over who I used to be. And don't we all truly aspire to that goal?
Country song alert. Toby Keith's lyrics, "I'm not as good as I once was, but I'm good once as I ever was." We can be better versions of our old self by exploring the past and sharing our stories with each other. There's always another lesson to learn.
In the end, I am who I am today because of my story. I feel I am more giving, more honest, more humble, more compassionate, and more caring because of my past.
If you haven’t been sharing, start now. Today! In this moment! I can tell you from experience, it gives you freedom, peace of mind, and a deeper connection with loved ones. If you have been sharing….keep sharing! Sharing is caring…not just the material side of things but most importantly, sharing your heart and who you truly are!
LOVE YOU ALL – Thank you for allowing me to be vulnerable and share with you AND be more ME!
